What Men Think About Feminism at Denison University

That Transcript Again

I discovered that I did not include the whole Tyler Morss transcript, here it is again.

“Okay, Lucas, I’m telling you: I trust your judgement. I trust McCubbins judgement.  Fuck, I even trust Bubba’s judgement.

But listen: You say this chick is hot; you she’s got a nice rack; you say she’s got a tight ass; you say she’s got a nice pussy; you say she fucks well.  This is the type of woman you need to go home and fuck, cause listen, I’m going to be quite frank with you: Here is where you do your whole “party; let me make on this bitch, that bitch, that bitch; let me fuck every Kate, Dick, and Jane”.  That’s here.

When you’re back home, you’re in the chill mode.  You’re like, “I don’t gotta do shit; I have to smoke some weed, yo; fuck my parents,yo; I’m back to chill.”  That’s when you got some bitch you can call on the reg: “Hey, Sweetpea, let me get inside that pussy real quick.”

Now listen: You’ve got to be fuckin’ nice to her when you’re home.  And when you’re here, you tell her “Oh, I’ve been a great guy.  You know, I really feel for you.  I’m being honest; I’m telling you the truth.  I really see us going down the road together.”  You get her all hyped up in the pants.

Now listen, you guys are good, so whenever you want your good and so technically you’re dating a woman back home.  Technically you’re dating a woman back home.”  But since I know you’re a dude, when you’re here you fuckin’ fuck the pussy — all of it.  And you don’t give a damn; you show no fucking discretion.  None whatsoever.  No discretion.

All of that.  To the fucking bank.  You fuck mad bitches, and then when you get home, you’re like “Hey Kiki, you tryin’ to fuck?”  And she’s like “Well you’re my boyfriend, so of course I’m trying to fuck.”  And guess what?  That’s what it is.

And you don’t tell her shit.  If she asks, “Aww man, I’ve been studying; I have a 4.0 GPA.  The football team is going great; I think I might start next year.”

 “Uh, social scene?”

“Aw, no.  Everyone did the whole fraternity scene, but that’s not me.  I’ve got a girlfriend, and I wanted to be faithful to you“

And listen, Lucas: You might have morals; you might be an ethical human being.  [chuckles]  But listen: At the end of the day, pussy is pussy.  And you’re not going to marry this bitch, are you?  You’re not gonna marry her.  You’re going to use her and abuse her.  And that, my friend, is why you tell this bitch you have a 4.0 and that you are captain of the football team.

You lie and you lie until you can’t lie no more.  But you don’t lie to me.  Don’t lie to me.”

Misogyny Reigns (Some More)

Things seem to have died down on campus surrounding the second release of “Coach’s Halftime Speech” by my university’s only secret society, however, I’d like to spread the message a little further.

I posted about this video about a year ago when it first appeared on youtube. It’s basically a video of current sophomore Tyler Morss, a student at Denison University, who has no respect for women or relationships (to say the least). I think his words speak for themselves:

“But listen: You say this chick is hot; you she’s got a nice rack; you say she’s got a tight ass; you say she’s got a nice pussy; you say she fucks well.  This is the type of woman you need to go home and fuck, cause listen, I’m going to be quite frank with you: Here is where you do your whole “party; let me make on this bitch, that bitch, that bitch; let me fuck every Kate, Dick, and Jane”.  That’s here.

This is how male college students talk about women. That’s all there is to say.

New (last) semester

First day of classes, for the very last time.

I don’t have a whole lot to report so far, except that I’m very undecided about whether or not to be upset about Clhildish Gambino’s first album.

More on that later, if you’ve heard it, let me know what you’re thinking.

Plus, upcoming conversation with the new student body president about Sexual Assault policy on campus, I’m sure there’ll be plenty to report.

College Feminism

So, I’m taking a really fantastic Women’s studies course this semester all about the body. It’s with one of the best professors I’ve ever had and, so far, our discussions have been really amazing. It’s just that there are so many women, college age ones in particular (I presume), who will do anything to keep from calling themselves feminists. As though, just because they wear makeup, or are in a sorority, or have a boyfriend, they can’t be a feminist!

(Seriously, two days ago, my boyfriend was listening to me explain something and announced “maybe I should take a Women’s Studies course!” and, well, he should.)

Mostly, it just makes me really sad. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it forever: feminism is about choices. It’s about everyone begin able to choose to do what they want with whomever they want, free from constraint. So really, as long as you believe peopple should be able to choose how to live their own lives, you’re a feminist.

Period.

Ok, a lot of this is stuff you already know. But sometimes it's good to refresh on easy ways to stay safe on campus! (Plus it was written by one of my friends!!!)

Rainy nyc Sunday

Rats!

So, I’m having a dilemma right now:

I’m interning with a really incredible theater company this summer. I have enormous respect for the work they do, and Im constantly stunned by how talented each member is. Really, I still get starstruck when I try to talk to them sometimes. However, I’m feeling really conflicted because they make rape jokes all the time.

Now, they aren’t like “what do nine out of ten people enjoy?” rape jokes, they are more like rape punchlines. The kind of off hand jokes or mentions that wouldn’t have bothered me at all before I was raped. But now that I am a rape survivor, even the most gentle, off-hand, rape punch line throws me off completely. As soon as it happens I feel alienated and extremely uncomfortable and it throws me off totally, sometimes for the whole rest fo the day.

The difficult thing is that I really respects these artists and I don’t know any of them terribly well and they rotate in and out of the show pretty often. But rape jokes persist throughout casting changes.

This is really the first time I’ve had to deal with something like this. Dealing with rape jokes on campus is a whole different story, and its a lot easier in a lot of ways. But what do I do when this happens in the real world? I can’t just call up the VP of Student Affairs, you know?

Is this just something I’m going to have to deal with for the rest of my real-world life?

I cant decide if this is great or terrible. Def NSFW this link actually works, sorry about that!
